Optimus Prime is a fictional character in the Transformers universe. He is the heroic leader of the Autobots, a faction of sentient robots from the planet Cybertron who are at war with the Decepticons.

First appearing in the animated TV series The Transformers in 1984, Optimus Prime is renowned for his wisdom, courage, and unwavering commitment to justice and freedom. His iconic transformation is from a robot into a semi-trailer truck.

Optimus Prime frequently clashes with Megatron, the Decepticon leader, in a struggle to protect Earth and ensure the survival of the Autobots. He embodies the ideals of leadership and self-sacrifice, often putting himself in harm's way to protect his team and innocent beings. He believes strongly in freedom for all sentient beings, and often espouses the motto “Freedom is the right of all sentient beings.”
